LED Lighting Refurbishment
Today, we are likely the largest and fastest manufacturer of various custom-made lighting fixtures with special technological requirements in Europe.
Projects – LED Lighting Refurbishment – include the modernization of existing lighting system technologies using LED.
We achieve energy efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and improve the quality of lighting in various spaces, such as schools, offices, industrial facilities, government buildings, as well as public lighting.
Process before and after refurbishment
A case study
Decarbonization of a bank building near Munich which utilized fluorescent lamps (T5), was replaced with energy-efficient LED lighting.
Initial Situation
In the office rooms to be modernized, the following lighting units were in use:
– Recessed luminaires, each with a T5 fluorescent tube F54W/840 and electronic ballast (Osram A326 526 01 DG).
All luminaires were equipped with electronic ballasts without a dimming function (on/off only). They were tool-free mounted in a suspended ceiling grid and could be easily removed.
The room height averaged 2.56 m, with grid luminaires primarily used for workstation lighting.
What do we always need to solve?
- Dimensions – Size and shape of the fixture (length, width, height, or diameter).
- Method of fixing and installing the luminiare
- UGR – Measure of glare, typically ranging from 10 to 30.
- Power Requirement – Wattage needed for the fixture.
- Luminous Flux – Measured in lm, indicating the amount of light emitted.
- Color Temperature – specifying the warmth in K or coolness of the light.
- CRI – Indicates color accuracy, with values up to 100.
- IP Rating – Protection against dust and water
- Dimmability – Whether the light intensity can be adjusted.
- Beam Angle – The spread of light, determining how wide or narrow the light is distributed.
- Lifetime – The operational hours of the fixture (e.g., 70,000, 100.000 hours).
New Situation:
We provided an LED solution that meets the following criteria:
- Efficient LED replacement for the previously mentioned fluorescent lamps (T5), ensuring high luminous efficacy (lm/W) and glare control (UGR < 19).
- Improved energy efficiency and light quality compared to the existing luminaires, featuring high color rendering (CRI > 80) and uniform illumination.
- Simple installation: The proposed solution was implemented without major structural changes.
- The existing ceiling panels remain in use without any modifications, including mounting the luminaires directly on-site in the offices.
- Product longevity was guaranteed for 7 years to minimize future maintenance costs.
